This was our first time checking out Bark & Barrel BBQ at Stovehouse, and we were both thrilled with our experience!
The staff was super friendly, the food was absolute perfection, portions were BIG, and the location was pretty cool!
Thank you again for everything!
Bonus:
Stovehouse offers plenty of seating availability (indoor and outdoor), fun things to do, and provides a great atmosphere to walk around and get some steps in to work off your food.
Historically, I pull fat off brisket when I eat barbecue but Bark & Barrel does brisket so well I eat it as is. The first time I came it was right before close but the staff didn't treat us like we were an imposition, even though we were. We left quickly so they could go home and forgot to get barbecue sauce but the food was so good it didn't REALLY need it. Of course I've been back several times since and tried every barbecue sauce I could, and it's all amazing.
The homemade kettle chips are beautiful and I can't wait to try them in nacho form but they're still super amazing as is.
Staff is kind, knowledgeable and efficient.
Store and kitchen have always been beautifully clean.
It’s always nice to walk in a restaurant and be welcomed! Food was served fast and more importantly it was served hot! Pulled pork was moist and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. Baked potato was delicious but the star of the show was the Kettle Chip Nachos!! Can’t wait to go back and try the other items in the menu.
I don’t know if we hit them on an off night— but the food was terrible. My wife had pulled pork that may have been the driest material on the face of the planet. However, my brisket was one of the slimier things I’ve ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. They even messed up the bread… stale and strange tasting. The cashier was good, but the three college-aged kitchen staff together moved the speed on one competent employee. We found ourselves craving our friend’s Chinese food and merely moving the “bbq” around on our plate with the plastic fork. It was more expensive than the other bbq places in town— and I asked myself, “why would I pay more for an inferior product?”. It goes with our saying — we won’t be eating here again.
The food was amazing. The food did take a while to make and we were asked to wait outside. Had to walk back and forth numerous times to check on order status. And we were given the wrong food. Once that was corrected we enjoyed our meal greatly though. Even went back in to order some of their white sauce and queso to take home.
Upon my third visit, I was finally able to get some brisket. I made two attempts prior to this visit and they were always out of the brisket and they do not sell chicken. I am not a huge fan of pork, so I would always walk away with an empty stomach. This day I was happy. The brisket was very good. Somewhat tender with a small amount of melt in your mouth. They were out of collards so I ended up trying the red beans and rice and it was excellent. So good that I went back through the drive through for a larger portion. This is a must try spot, but you must go early to get the brisket.
I got The Favorite Combo with Pulled Pork and Cajun Sausage. The sides they recommended Smoked Mac and Cheeses and Collard Greens. It also came with a slice of bread. And I got a Large Come to drink. The pulled pork had a nice smoke flavor to it. The pulled pork was moist and not too dry. The Cajun Sausage had some kick to it. The Smoked Mac and Cheese had a nice smoke flavor to it. I thought maybe a little dry. The Collard Greens was good and good taste. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. My advice is that compared to other Favorite BBQ Places that I’ve eaten at that this place is overpriced. The food was good, but I don’t believe that it was about $18 good for 1 person.
Clyde's is a family owned place, very clean and convenient to the County Line Road area. I had the brisket plate with a side of smoked turkey. Brisket was good, better with the sauce on it. Turkey was good, just a touch dry. Great service and super friendly people.
Second visit, tried a pork plate. Barbecue sauce on the table made the pork taste great. The green beans and potato salad were also very good.
